22, 24 Seafield Street, Portsoy

22 and 24 Seafield Street in Portsoy were built between 1820 and 1825 in the style of William Robertson from Elgin. This two-storey building features a dormerless attic and has an L-shaped layout that extends back to Roseacre Street. The front is made of squared, tooled pale grey granite, with a bowed angle at the street corner, while the side facing Roseacre Street is constructed of dark coursed rubble.

The Seafield Street facade has four wide bays, with the entrance to No 24 located in a recessed bowed angle, flanked by enlarged shop windows. The entrance to No 22 is also flanked by enlarged shop windows, while the original dimensions of the shop windows are maintained at No 24.

On Roseacre Street, there is a door near the center of the building, with regular window arrangements. There is a single-storey, dormerless attic, three-bay rubble extension at the south gable, where the end bay has been converted into a garage with a large entrance.

The glazing varies throughout the building, with plate glass in the shop windows, 12-pane timber sash and case windows on the first floor of No 22, and modern glazing in both No 24 and the extension at 2 Roseacre Street. The building features coped end stacks and a slate roof.
