Description

1823, probably William Robertson. 2-storey bowed angle block

with 3 bays to Seafield Street (No 36), 3-bay bowed angle and

further single bay with later addition to The Square (Nos 7,

9). Rubble, tooled ashlar margins; some modern ground floor

alterations for shop fronts. No 36 centre entrance in with

window left; regular fenestration in 1st floor with 3 windows

(centre window blind) closely set in bowed bay which is

slightly recessed and delineated by margins. Later 19th

century canted dormer to No 36. Single corniced end stack;

bowed and piended slate roof.

Recessed shop entrances in Nos 7 and 9 The Square flanked by

shallow bowed glazed show cases dating from 1920s.

Modern rubble and harled addition at S (No 9).
