Description
This building, located at 52-54 George Street in Whithorn, dates from around 1800 and is a two-storey, three-bay house that originally had a shop on the ground floor. The exterior features smooth rendering with painted raised margins and angles, and a moulded cornice. The central entrance has a door with a fanlight above it, with a single window to the left and a former shop front to the right that includes windows flanking the door. On the first floor, there are three single-light windows, all of which are sash and case with plate glass glazing.
The building has end sandstone skews, skew blocks, and end corniced stacks, topped with a slate roof. Additionally, it features decorative cast-iron guttering.
