Description
59 George Street in Whithorn is a pair of irregular two-storey houses, primarily from the 18th century. The exterior features rendered painted walls with smooth painted margins. House number 55 has a door on the left side, along with an enlarged 19th-century window that has Gothick glazing. On the first floor, there are three single-light windows, with two located to the right above a pend. All windows are sash and case with 12-pane glazing.
House number 57 has a door on the right side, a single window to the left on the ground floor, and three windows on the first floor, one of which is a modern sash and case. All windows here are also sash and case with 12-pane glazing.
Both houses feature a moulded eaves cornice, substantial coped ends, and axial stacks topped with thackstane, all under slate roofs.
