Description
20 North Main Street in Wigtown is a two-storey, three-bay house built in 1832, which includes a shop on the ground floor. The building is rendered and features painted ashlar margins, a base, a band, cill, and eaves courses. The central door has a letterbox fanlight and is flanked by shop windows, with a secondary door located to the outer left. On the first floor, there are three regular windows, which have modern glazing and decorative cast-iron window guards. The roof is tiled and includes two later piend-roofed dormers, with mutual gable stacks. At the rear, there is a single-storey wing with a ruberoid roof. The property also features cast-iron rainwater goods and has an inscribed marriage tablet dated 1832.
