27 North Main Street, Wigtown

27 North Main Street in Wigtown is a mid-19th century, two-storey, three-bay house that features a betting office on the ground floor, contributing to the continuous street line of the terrace. The exterior is harled with painted ashlar margins. The central entrance door has a letterbox fanlight and is flanked by large shop windows, with an additional door leading to a flat on the outer right. On the first floor, there are three windows. The right return elevation shows evidence of a former adjoining property. The left gable extends over the neighboring building at the eaves. The first-floor windows have modern glazing, and the roof is covered with large grey slates and small modern skylights. The building has ashlar coped skews and features two end stacks, one rendered and one brick. There is also an extension at the rear.
