Description

29 and 30 North Main Street in Wigtown is a late 18th century building consisting of two 2-storey houses arranged at right angles, with one house forming part of a terrace on North Main Street, and a single-storey, 3-bay cottage. The exterior is made of rubble and harled on the south and east elevations, featuring painted margins.

On the south-east elevation, there is a central door flanked by 19th century shop windows, with a pend to the outer right that has granite setts. The first floor has three windows.

At the rear, the house at right angles has a window above the pend. This rear house features a door flanked by windows on the ground floor to the east and three first-floor windows. The single-storey cottage is attached to the gable of the north end elevation, also featuring a door flanked by windows. The windows throughout are sash and case style. The building has end and mutual gable stacks and coped skews, with a Rubberoid roof.
