Description
26 Main Street in Glamis is a late 18th century, two-storey, five-bay house that forms part of a terrace. The building is constructed from coursed rubble and features a large stone eaves lintel course.
On the northwest elevation facing Main Street, there is a part-glazed modern timber door located in the central bay, with two windows to the right and one window to the left. There is also a pend entrance on the outer left side. The first floor has a regular arrangement of windows.
The southeast elevation displays asymmetrical fenestration, with a lower ancillary structure projecting to the right. The windows are timber sash and case, featuring a 12-pane glazing pattern. The roof is covered with purple slates, and there are coped brick stacks with cans.
The ancillary structure is a long, low, pitch-roofed outbuilding made of rubble and harl, which includes a variety of elements such as a boarded timber door and a roof that is both corrugated and slated.
