Description
17 Main Street in Glamis is a late 18th-century, two-storey, three-bay house that faces southwest. It is constructed from coursed squared rubble, featuring stone margins and ashlar quoin strips.
The southeast elevation, which faces Main Street, is symmetrical. The ground floor has a boarded timber door flanked by windows, while the first floor displays regular fenestration.
On the northeast elevation, there is a single-storey projection for No 15 Main Street on the right side.
The northwest (rear) elevation features a catslide roof over a projecting central bay, which has a door on the ground floor and a window on the first floor, along with an additional window to the right on the ground floor.
The windows are timber sash and case, with 12-pane and plate glass glazing patterns. The building has coped ashlar stacks with polygonal cans, as well as ashlar-coped skews and moulded skewputts.
