Description
16 Main Street in Glamis is a mid-18th century, two-storey, three-bay house that is part of a regular terrace on the southwest side. The building is constructed of coursed rubble with harl pointing and features large quoins. The rear has raised and tabbed margins.
The northwest elevation, facing Main Street, is symmetrical, featuring a central two-leaf boarded timber door at ground level, flanked by windows in the adjacent bays. The first-floor windows are smaller and follow a regular pattern.
The southeast elevation is asymmetrical and showcases a variety of openings. The northeast elevation is blank and includes a gablehead stack.
The windows are timber sash and case with a 12-pane glazing pattern. The roof is covered with grey slates, and there are tall-coped ashlar stacks with cans and thackstanes.
