Description
Corner House, located at 30 Main Street in Glamis, is an early 19th century, three-storey, three-bay tenement with an L-plan and a piend roof. It is constructed from coursed sandstone rubble with dressed quoins and forms part of an irregular terrace to the northeast.
The northwest elevation facing Main Street is symmetrical, featuring a boarded timber door with a two-pane fanlight at the center, flanked by windows in the outer bays, with regular fenestration above.
On the southwest elevation, there are three windows on each floor, with a narrower bay on the outer right that contains a timber door at ground level and a window above.
The southeast elevation has a lower advanced gable, with a window to the left at ground level and a recessed face on the second floor, which has a window positioned close to the eaves on the left side.
The northeast elevation displays two irregularly spaced windows on each floor, with an additional window in the lower bay on the outer left. There is a projecting bay on the outer right that includes a door at ground level and a window on each floor above, returning to the left.
The windows feature a 12-pane glazing pattern in timber sash and case, along with top-hopper opening windows. The roof is covered with grey slates, and there are coped ashlar ridge stacks with thackstanes.
