Description
The water pump and well, located at The Washing Green on Main Street in Glamis, date from the later 19th century. The water pump stands approximately 4 feet high, while the Kennedy well is about 2 feet high, both situated at the west end of Main Street.
The Kennedy well features a base with a fluted cast-iron column and a lionhead mask water spout positioned below a roll-moulded cornice and a fluted domed cap. It is marked 'GLENFIELD COY LTD, KILMARNOCK'. The water pump is housed in a timber casing and includes a cast-iron handle.
