Description

A pillar fountain thought to date to the late-C19.

MATERIALS: the fountain is constructed of cast-iron.

PLAN: it is cylindrical on plan.

DESCRIPTION: the pillar fountain is composed of a fluted column with roll moulded base and collar. It is topped with a fluted domed cover, with a bud finial and handle mount on the right. To the front of the fountain is a protruding lion mask spout. Below, a small plaque bears the inscription Glenfield // Kennedy Ltd. // Kilmarnock.
