Description

The water hydrant located outside Pump Cottage is a cast iron structure made by Glenfield and Kennedy of Kilmarnock, dating from the late 19th century or early 20th century.

It features a fluted pillar standing on a plinth, topped with a band at the head. Above this is a fluted domical cap that has a bud finial. On one side of the hydrant, there is a cast lion head, and the band includes four spouts equipped with keyed stoppers.
