Description

Petvins Farmhouse is a detached farmhouse dating from the 18th century, though it may incorporate earlier fabric. It is constructed from ham stone rubble with ashlar dressings, and has Welsh slate roofs with coped gables, the north side being stepped. The building has a 'L' shape and a 4-bay west elevation facing the road. The west elevation features a plinth and hollow-chamfered mullioned windows set in recessed surrounds, with labels above the lower windows. The lower windows are 2-light except for the first and fourth bays, which are 3-light. A moulded, cambered-arched doorway with a 20th-century door is located to the right of the lower bay 2, and is sheltered by an open stone porch with a stepped coped gabled slate roof and a ball finial. The south gable is rendered. While the north gable and rear extension contain 20th-century windows, a circular window with a hoodmould and leaded glazing is high in the north gable. The interior was not inspected during the listing process.
