Description
The Colliers Arms Public House is a 17th-century farmhouse that has been converted into a public house. It features a painted timber-frame structure with painted render infill panels, set on a ground floor made of painted rendered rubble stone. The gable ends are made of rubble stone and rendered and painted at the south-west end. The roof is covered with clay tiles and has integral brick end stacks.
The building is two storeys high with an attic and has a three-bay range, along with 19th and 20th-century side extensions. The entrance is located in the south-west gable end, which has a 20th-century projecting gabled canopy over a 20th-century door. There are twin leaded-light windows in the attic. The render is painted to imitate timber framing. The left side of the building has square framing that is three panels high, featuring a single tension brace. There is a 20th-century projecting entrance porch to the left, with a flat-roofed dormer above it. Adjacent to the porch are 19th-century metal lattice twin casement windows.
On the right side, the square framing is also three panels high, with tension braces set on a painted rendered ground floor. A 19th-century two-storey tiled gabled extension and a 20th-century single-storey extension are attached to the right. The first floor has 19th-century metal lattice casement windows set within the framing, with a three-light window to the left and a single-light window to the right. The rear of the building features a rubble stone gable with 20th-century casement windows. The interior has not been inspected.
