Description
328 Leith Walk is an early 19th-century, three-storey, five-bay tenement. It features later shopfronts that project into what was once a garden area. The building is constructed of cream sandstone with stugged ashlar on the front and pink rubble at the rear, complemented by rusticated quoins.
On the front elevation, there is a corniced doorway at the center with painted margins, accessed through a pend between the shopfronts, and the windows are arranged in a regular pattern. The roof has three rectangular dormers, which were originally tripartite but have been re-glazed, each with piended roofs.
The rear elevation is four bays wide with single windows. The central wallhead is raised in a gable, featuring a brick apex stack that has been rebuilt, flanked by single rectangular dormers. The northeast elevation is gabled with a brick apex stack and has two single windows.
The building has timber sash and case windows, with either plate glass glazing or 12-pane modern replacements. The first-floor left bays and second-floor right bays have tilt and turn replacement windows. The roof is covered with black slate and has lead flashings, along with two apex stacks and a mutual stack.
The interior was not seen in 1993.
