Description

70-76 Thistle Street is an earlier 19th century, three-storey, four-bay tenement located on a corner site, featuring shops on the ground floor. The building is constructed from coursed rubble sandstone with ashlar facing at the ground level. It has a pair of unified shopfronts topped with a single stone cornice, with three bays on the right and four bays on the left, which includes a common stair door at the center.

The gable has windows in the center and a large brick chimney stack at the apex. The rear elevation is irregular with four bays.

The windows are timber sash and case, with 12 panes each. The building features ashlar coped skews, rebuilt brick stacks, and is covered with grey slates. The interior was not seen in 1995.
