308 Leith Walk, Edinburgh

308 Leith Walk is an early 19th-century, three-storey and attic, two-bay terraced town house. It features a later shopfront in what was once a garden area, accessible through a pend with a rear entrance doorway. The front is finished in painted stugged ashlar, while the rear is constructed from coursed rubble. The windows are set in slightly recessed panels.

On the front elevation, there is a projecting flat-roofed modern shopfront at the ground floor. The first floor has pedimented tripartite windows with later slender cast-iron columnar mullions, and the second floor also features tripartite windows with ashlar mullions. There are two rectangular bipartite dormers with glazed returns and piended roofs.

The rear elevation includes a plain doorway at the base of a central semi-circular stairwell that breaks the eaves, topped with a half-conical roof, along with single windows. The building has multi-pane timber sash and case windows, except for the ground floor windows on the front elevation, which have plate glass glazing, with the left window on the first floor featuring lying panes. The roof is covered with black slate and lead flashings, and there are broad mutual stacks.

The interior was not seen in 1993.
