Description

Pre 1804. 4-storey, 3-bay townhouse with basement, part of near regular terrace of 5. Cream sandstone, dressed ashlar with polished dressings, coursed rubble to SW elevation, rubble to rear. Band course above basement; ground floor windows architraved and corniced; dentilled eaves cornice.

SE (FRONT) ELEVATION: pilastered and corniced doorway to right of centre, rectangular plate glass fanlight, 2-leaf panelled door. Single windows to remaining bays and floors. Single rectangular dormer with piended roof to right; rectangular tripartite piended dormer to left.

NW (REAR) ELEVATION: semi-circular projecting stair well; single windows.

SW ELEVATION: gablehead raised with broad apex stack; single windows (some blinded).

Timber sash and case windows, mostly 12-pane glazing, some replacement windows to rear. Black slate roof; apex stack (see above), coped mutual stack.

INTERIOR: not seen 1993.

BOUNDARY WALLS AND RAILINGS: low rubble boundary wall to front, some original iron railings.
