26 Leith Walk, Edinburgh

26 Leith Walk is a four-storey, four-bay town house with a basement, built before 1804. It is part of a near terrace of five houses. The exterior is made of cream sandstone, dressed ashlar with polished dressings, while the rear features rubble with droved dressings. There is a band course above the basement, architraved windows with cornices at the ground floor, and a dentilled eaves cornice.

On the southwest (front) elevation, there is a pilastered and corniced doorway located in the bay to the right of the centre, featuring a rectangular plate glass fanlight and a two-leaf panelled door. The remaining bays and floors have single windows, and there are two rectangular tripartite piended dormers.

The northwest (rear) elevation includes tripartite windows in the centre bays of the ground and first floors, with single windows in the other bays. The windows are timber sash and case, mostly with 12-pane glazing, while some at the rear have 4-pane glazing. The roof is covered with grey slate and has broad coped mutual stacks and skews.

The interior was not seen in 1993. The property also features a low rubble boundary wall with some original iron railings.
