Description

Pre 1804. 4-storey, 7-bay tenement with basement, part of near regular terrace of 5. Cream sandstone, dressed ashlar with polished dressings. Corniced and pilastered doorways with rectangular plate glass fanlights and 2-leaf panelled doors; dentilled eaves cornice.

SE (FRONT) ELEVATION: doorway to common stair to centre, single windows to floors above. Bays to left and right of centre with doorways to main door flats, single windows to floors above. Bays to outer right with broad corniced tripartite window at ground floor (later alteration), single windows to floors above. Single windows to outer left bays. 2 canted and piended dormers to right; single and tripartite rectangular dormer with piended roof to left; 2 velux rooflights.

NW (REAR) ELEVATION: bipartite window to ground floor of outer left bay; single windows to remaining bays.

Timber sash and case windows, mostly 12-pane, some 4-pane glazing and replacement windows to rear. Black slate roof; broad coped mutual stacks and skews.

INTERIOR: not seen 1993.

BOUNDARY WALL AND RAILINGS: low rubble boundary wall to front, some original iron railings.
