60 Leith Walk, Edinburgh

62 Leith Walk is a pair of early 19th century terraced houses, each two stories tall and featuring six bays, with a basement. The houses are constructed from cream sandstone with polished ashlar, while the rear and sides are made of coursed and squared ashlar. There is a band course above the basement, a band cill course at the ground floor, another band course above the ground floor, and a dentilled eaves cornice with a leaded blocking course. The ground floor has architraved windows.

The front elevation is symmetrical, with round-arched doorways featuring Ionic doorpieces in the inner bays, accessed by steps and topped with semi-circular plate glass fanlights and panelled doors. Above these doorways, there are single windows on the first floor, and each of the remaining bays also has single windows. The roof features three rectangular dormers with piended roofs.

The rear elevation has four bays, with a central wallhead raised in a gable that includes an apex stack and single windows. The southwest elevation is three bays wide, gabled with an apex stack and a band course above the ground floor, featuring single windows in each bay, most of which are blocked.

The windows are timber sash and case with 12-pane glazing, and the roof is covered with black slate, featuring two apex stacks and a mutual stack.

The interior was not seen in 1993. The property includes a low rubble boundary wall at the front, some original iron spearhead railings, and two cast-iron lamp standards at No 60.
