Description

Early 19th century. 2-storey, 6-bay mirrored pair of terraced houses with basement. Cream sandstone, polished ashlar, coursed and squared ashlar to rear and sides. Band course above basement; band cill course at ground floor; band course above ground floor; dentilled eaves cornice with leaded blocking course; architraved windows at ground floor.

SE (FRONT) ELEVATION: elevation mirrored about centre; round-arched doorways with Ionic doorpieces to inner bays approached by steps, semi-circular plate glass fanlights, panelled doors; single windows to 1st floor above. Single windows to remaining bays. 3 single rectangular dormers with piended roofs.

NW (REAR) ELEVATION: 4-bay; central wallhead raised in gable with apex stack; single windows.

SW ELEVATION: 3-bay; gabled with apex stack, band course above ground floor; single windows to each bay mostly blocked.

Timber sash and case windows with 12-pane glazing. Black slate roof;

2 apex stacks (see above), mutual stack.

INTERIOR: not seen 1993.

BOUNDARY WALLS, LAMP STANDARDS AND RAILINGS: low rubble boundary wall to front, some original iron spearhead railings, 2 cast-iron lamp standards to No 60.
