71 Restalrig Road, Edinburgh

71 Restalrig Road is a pair of terraced houses built around 1810. These two-storey homes feature six bays and include an attic and basement. The front is finished with droved ashlar sandstone and polished ashlar dressings, while the northwest gable wall and rear are constructed from squared and snecked rubble. The houses have a base course, eaves cornice, and blocking course. The ground and first floors have architraved openings, with cornicing at the ground level.

The southwest elevation is symmetrical, showcasing architraved and corniced entrance doors in the third and fourth bays. No 69 has a panelled door with a rectangular plate glass fanlight, while No 71 features a modern patterned rectangular fanlight. Stone steps lead to the entrances, oversailing the basements and accompanied by modern railings. The elevation is regularly fenestrated, with basement windows, rectangular dormers above the outer bays, and two rooflights over the central bays.

The northeast elevation consists of two bays with regular windows and modern rectangular dormers above the first and third bays. The northwest elevation is a blank gable wall.

The front features plate glass timber sash and case windows, while No 69 has four-pane sash and case windows at the rear. No 71 has modern glazing at the rear and in the dormers. The roof is covered with grey slate, featuring piended and slate-hung dormers, along with ashlar coped multi-flue wallhead stacks and skew copes.

The interior was not seen in 1995. The boundary wall consists of a coursed rubble dwarf wall topped with ashlar coping and modern railings along the street.
