Description

Early 19th century. Pair of 2-storey and attic, 2-bay classically detailed houses with basement, part of a terrace of 5 houses. Cream sandstone, droved ashlar front with polished dressings, coursed and squared rubble to basement, coursed rubble to rear. Moulded cill course at ground floor; band course above ground floor; dentilled eaves cornice with blocking course; ashlar mullions.

SW (FRONT) ELEVATION: elevations mirrored about centre with pilastered doorways accessed by steps oversailing basement recess to centre bays, panelled doors, No 3 rectangular plate glass fanlight, No 5 rectangular fanlight with original radial astragals; single windows to 1st floor above. Outer bays with tripartite windows to each floor. 2 canted piended dormers.

NE (REAR) ELEVATION: single windows, tall wallhead stack to left.

Timber sash and case windows with plate glass glazing. Black slate roof with lead flashings; mutual coped stacks to party walls; sunk downpipe to centre.

INTERIOR: not seen 1993.

BOUNDARY WALL AND RAILINGS: low boundary wall to front with remains of original railings, railings to steps.
