Description
26 West High Street in Crieff is a small traditional shop with a dwelling above, dating from the later 19th century. The building is two stories tall and features a single bay, constructed from stugged squared and snecked rubble with ashlar dressings. It has band and eaves courses, and the first-floor window is corniced and pilastered.
On the northeast elevation, there is an in-canted part-glazed door at the center, flanked by fixed display windows set on black Vitrolite aprons. These windows have deep fanlights with leaded multi-pane glazing. The fascia displays plain lettering reading 'J L GIILL', which is separated by a dividing band course from a bipartite window on the first floor.
The windows on the building are made of plate glass and are in timber sash and case style. The roof is covered with grey slates. Inside, the shop features a fine traditional interior with timber shelving.
