1-2 The Square, Aberfeldy

1-2 The Square in Aberfeldy is a mid to late 19th century, two-storey and attic, three-bay flatted dwelling that includes shops on the ground floor. It is part of an irregular terrace to the west and is constructed from squared and snecked chlorite-slate rubble with stugged ashlar dressings.

The south elevation is symmetrical, featuring a central panelled timber door with a three-part fanlight at ground level. To the right, there is a shop with traditional display windows, a cast-iron column, and an in-canted part-glazed timber door with a fanlight, along with a boarded soffit and a mosaic patterned doorstep. A modern shop is located to the left. The first floor has three windows, and there are two dormer windows that break the eaves over the outer bays, with a modern rooflight in the center.

The east elevation, facing Chapel Street, has a gabled design with an 8-pane fixed window on the ground floor to the left, and additional windows on each floor above. The building features a 12-pane glazing pattern in timber sash and case windows, coped ashlar stacks with cans, overhanging eaves with plain bargeboarding, and pierced decorative bargeboarding on the dormer windows.
