Description
The water fountain located in The Square, Aberfeldy, was built in 1885. It is a small, domed, baldacchino-style memorial fountain made of cast iron. The fountain features a circular basin, which is currently filled with plants, and a central stylized flower stem that supports a heron or stork. The fountainhead is heavily decorated, displaying winged heraldic beasts at the corners, with medallions featuring a coat of arms on the north and south faces, a heron or stork on the east face, and an inscription on the west face. The dome is topped with a crown finial.
