167 Commercial Street, Lerwick

167 Commercial Street in Lerwick is a two-storey and attic tenement building from the later 18th century, with some alterations made in the 19th century. It is situated on a sloping site and features a two-bay gable facing Commercial Street, with closes on the north and south sides. The shopfront is painted ashlar, while the other walls are made of harl-pointed rubble with droved sandstone dressings. The windows have projecting cills.

The east gable facing Commercial Street is symmetrical above ground. The ground floor has a painted shopfront that includes a corniced modern shop door on the left and a square plate glass shop window on the right. The first and second floors have regular window arrangements, leading up to a rubble apex stack with harled sides and a concrete cope.

The south elevation has an irregular arrangement of windows, featuring a modern door and glazing.

The north elevation is symmetrical, with a two-pane fixed-light shop window in the left bay at ground level, and a four-pane timber sash and case window above. There is an infilled window in the center at ground level, a blank space above, and another infilled window in the right bay with a six-pane hopper window above it.

The west gable has a harled apex stack that is coped with circular cans. The north elevation includes a two-pane fixed-light shop window and four-pane timber sash and case windows on the gable. The roof is made of corrugated sheet material with cement-rendered skew copes.
