165 Commercial Street, Lerwick

165 Commercial Street in Lerwick is an earlier 19th-century, three-storey tenement building. It features a two-bay gable facing the street and a three-bay elevation on Hill Lane to the north. The gable is constructed of random rubble with droved ashlar dressings, while the northern elevation is cement-rendered and lined. The windows have projecting cills.

On the eastern elevation facing Commercial Street, there is a modern shopfront framed by rubble corners at the ground level. The first floor has regular window arrangements, and there is a single window on the second floor in the left bay.

The northern elevation on Hill Lane includes a plate glass fixed-light shop window at the ground level on the outer left. There is an infilled window on the first floor in the outer right bay, with a window above it and another in the left bay.

The building has modern glazing throughout and is topped with a purple-grey slate roof. It features a cast-iron gutter and downpipe with a hopper on the northern elevation, along with a coped rubble apex stack that has circular cans and cement-rendered skew copes.
