Description
Brown Street House, located at 13 Brown Street in Blairgowrie, is an early 19th-century, two-storey, three-bay house that adjoins St Catharine's Episcopal Church. The building features squared and coursed rubble with harl on the sides and has an eaves course.
The southwest elevation, which is the principal façade, is symmetrical. It has a panelled timber door with a decorative fanlight above it in the central bay at ground level, flanked by windows, with regular fenestration on the first floor.
The southeast elevation is a plain gabled wall. The house has replacement timber sash and case windows with a 12-pane glazing pattern. It is roofed with grey slates and has coped brick stacks with cans, as well as ashlar-coped skews with block skewputts. A cast-iron downpipe features a decorative rainwater hopper.
Inside, the house includes some moulded cornices, shutters, and a timber staircase.
