West House, 90 Main Street, Coaltown Of Balgonie

West House, located at 90 Main Street in Coaltown of Balgonie, is an earlier 19th century two-storey, three-bay house that forms part of a terraced pair. The building features a combination of ashlar, random rubble, and harl, with rusticated quoins and polished margins. It has an eaves cornice and architraved openings, with the southern openings corniced and featuring a fluted frieze at ground level.

The south elevation, which serves as the entrance, is symmetrical. It has a deep-set modern door in a corniced doorcase at the center, flanked by windows in the adjacent bays, with regular fenestration on the first floor.

On the west elevation, there is a window to the right of center on the first floor, a small attic window slightly off center to the right, and a broad gablehead stack.

The north elevation is largely obscured, featuring a low, flat-roofed extension at ground level and a modern window to the right on the first floor.

The building has top-opening modern windows and is covered with brown pantiles. It features cavetto coped ashlar stacks with clay cans, ashlar coped skews with decorative scroll skewputts, and thackstanes.

Additionally, there is a boundary wall made of coped rubble, along with a decorative cast iron gate and railings.
