Description
48 Main Street in Coaltown of Balgonie is a single-storey, three-bay cottage that dates from the earlier to mid-19th century and has been altered over time. It is part of a terrace to the east and is constructed from rubble with stone cills and an eaves course.
The south elevation, facing Main Street, features a window that has been converted from a door at the center, with additional windows in the flanking bays. The west elevation has a small window on the outer left side.
The cottage has modern windows with plate glass glazing and is topped with red pantiles. It also features coped ashlar stacks with some cans, ashlar coped skews, and thackstanes.
