Description
5 George Street in Blairgowrie is an early 19th century single-storey cottage with an attic, featuring three bays and situated in an irregular terrace. The exterior is constructed from large blocks of rough ashlar, complemented by architraved ashlar surrounds.
The principal elevation is symmetrical, showcasing a part-glazed timber door with a plate glass fanlight at the center. Flanking this door are windows, with canted dormer windows positioned above and a small rooflight located off-centre to the left. The windows are fitted with plate glass glazing in timber sash and case frames. The roof is covered with grey slates, and there is a coped ashlar stack with cans.
Inside, the cottage boasts fine decorative plasterwork, including cornices, centre roses, and a compartmented ceiling, along with architraved doors.
