Description
41, 43, and 45 Thistle Street is a tenement building dating from around 1775. It is a three-storey structure with a basement and attic, featuring an irregular four-bay design built on sloping ground that falls to the north at the rear. The exterior is made of coursed rubble that has been stone cleaned.
On the left side of the front, there is a doorway leading to a common stair, flanked by shops. To the right, there is a late 19th-century shop with corniced pilasters. The building also has a pair of tripartite dormer windows.
The rear elevation is irregular, consisting of five storeys and three bays. The windows are timber sash and case, with 12 panes (some of which are plate glass). The building features ashlar coped skews, rebuilt stone stacks, and is roofed with grey slates.
The interior was not seen in 1995.
