50, 52 Thistle Street, Edinburgh

50 and 52 Thistle Street is a late 18th-century, three-storey and attic tenement building with a three-bay shop at the ground level. The structure is made of coursed cream sandstone. The shop features a central door and a corniced fascia, with a doorway to a common stair located to the far left, which has a deep-set flush-panelled door and a three-pane fanlight above it. There are also a pair of tripartite dormers with piend roofs that are hung with slate.

At the rear of the building, there is warehousing associated with Lyon & Turnbull, which is listed separately under 54 Thistle Street. The building has timber sash and case windows with 12 panes. The skews are coped with ashlar, and there is a rendered stack on the east side, topped with grey slates. The interior was not seen in 1995.
