Description

46 and 48 Thistle Street is a late 18th century, three-storey and attic tenement building featuring three bays, with a shop at the ground level. The structure is made of coursed cream sandstone. The ground floor includes a three-bay shop with a deep-set door at the center, while a doorway to the common stair is located to the far left, featuring a deep-set flush-panelled door and a three-pane fanlight above it. There is a tripartite piend-roofed dormer, slate-hung, on the left side of the building.

At the rear, there is warehousing associated with Lyon & Turnbull, which is listed separately under 54 Thistle Street.

The building has timber sash and case windows with 12 panes. The roof features ashlar coped skews, rendered stacks, and is covered with grey slates. The interior was not seen in 1995.
