Description
West Lodge and Gatepiers at Gordonstoun House were designed by A and W Reid in 1899. The lodge is a single-storey, three-bay structure featuring an advanced and gabled central bay. It is built of coursed rubble with tooled ashlar dressings. A square balustraded porch is located in the left re-entrant angle, which includes a shouldered doorway. The south gable has a triangular bay window, while the east bay features a pedimented bipartite window adorned with floral decoration. The building has crowsteps, end and ridge corniced stacks, a slate roof, and a tiled ridge.
The gatepiers date from around 1900 and are made of square rock-faced ashlar. They are coped and support urns, accompanied by coped rock-faced retaining walls.
