Description

Dated 1728. Ground floor remodelled 1971 by John Wright

for Elgin Fund. 3 storeys, 2 tenements of 3 and 5 bays,

wings to rear. Rubble, ashlar dressings; harled gable

and rear. Ground floor of both buildings now

symmetrically treated with centre segmental-headed arch

to pend, flanked by 3-bay shop fronts, also with

segmental-headed doorways and windows. Regular

fenestration 1st and 2nd floor, with 12-pane glazing;

Venetian window to central 1st floor bay, No 17.

Crowsteps; skewputt to SW with date and to SE with

mask; coped ridge and gable stacks; slate roof.
