Patrick House, 35 Sherbrooke Avenue, Glasgow

Patrick House is a large two-storey villa located at 35 Sherbrooke Avenue in Glasgow, designed by Gavin Paterson between 1902 and 1903. The building features Scots Renaissance ornamentation and is constructed from snecked grey ashlar with polished dressings. It has crow-steps and some strap-worked pediments. The front of the villa is L-shaped, facing Sherbrooke Avenue, with an advanced gable on the right that includes a conical-roofed turret. There is a porch in the re-entrant angle and two bays to the left, topped with pedimented dormer heads. The villa has tall chimney stacks and a slate roof, with most windows featuring small-paned top sashes. At the rear, there is a long asymmetrical wing and a detached outbuilding. The property is also marked by battered circular gatepiers leading to a stepped boundary wall, which has intermediate piers with projecting caps.
