39 Sherbrooke Avenue, Glasgow

39 Sherbrooke Avenue is a large villa designed by Burnet Boston and Carruthers, built between 1902 and 1903. The villa features Renaissance details and is mainly two storeys high with attics. It is constructed of stugged red ashlar with polished dressings. The windows are mullioned and transomed, with plate-glass glazing.

On the west side, there is an arched entrance adorned with decorative sculpture at the imposts, leading to a low range that may have served as a billiards room. The south front facing the street has large central mullioned and transomed windows, with an attic dormer above. There is a circular angle turret on the left gable, and to the right, a wall-head attic window is flanked by shafts and topped with a pediment. A balustrade extends to the angle of the building. The villa has tall chimney stacks and green slate roofs.

On the east flank, there is a fire escape. The property is enclosed by a low boundary wall with tall, thin piers. The driveway gatepiers are quatrefoil in section and topped with pyramidal caps on balls, which display brass name plates.
