Description
18 Bruce Road is a villa built in the later 19th century that shows the influence of architect Alexander Thomson. The building is two stories high, with a single gable facing the street. It features a wide, shallow-pitched roof with broad eaves covered in slate. On the first floor, there are three round-arched windows with channelled voussoirs. The ground floor has an asymmetrically placed broad-eaved canted window. The exterior is finished with stugged coursers and polished dressings, and it has plate glass sash windows. There are end stacks, and a painted porch is located on the right-hand side, with a range beyond that may not be original. The property is also marked by painted gatepiers that have projecting caps.
