24 Bruce Road, Glasgow

24 Bruce Road in Glasgow is a double villa built between 1880 and 1890. This symmetrical, single-storey and attic building features some detailing reminiscent of the work of architect Alexander Thomson, with broad eaves and a slate roof. The exterior is made of stone-cleaned stugged and snecked ashlar, with polished dressings and painted detailing on the left house. The villa has four bays, consisting of two 2-bay houses. Each house has inner twin gables topped with iron-crested and bowed 2-storey windows that extend high into the main gable heads. The outer bays each feature a pilastered mullion for the ground floor window and a wall-head dormer. The windows are sash style, and there are recessed porches on the flanks, along with end stacks.
