Craigholme School Infant Department, 328 Albert Drive, Pollokshields, Glasgow

Craigholme School Infant Department, built between 1891 and 1892, is a two-storey, three-bay villa that reflects the architectural influence of Alexander Thomson. The building features a canted window on the left at the ground floor and a bowed window on the first floor, which is accompanied by a colonnade and a decorative low cast-iron balcony. The porch, located in the re-entrant angle, has an unusually deep-eaved gabled roof and showcases banded stonework along with Thomsonesque pilaster capitals. The exterior is constructed of stone-cleaned yellow ashlar, with stugged and snecked sections that include polished dressings and horizontal bands. The broad-eaved slate roofs curve over the bowed section, and most windows are sashes with T-shaped glazing. A fire escape is situated on the west flank of the building. Additionally, there is a stepped boundary wall that leads to the street.
