Description

Later 19th century villa, showing influence of Alexander

Thomson. Snecked and squared rubble, ashlar dressings,

some oversized nail-head detailing; 2-storey 3-bay front

with fret-worked barge-boarded centre gable, deeply-

projecting flat-roofed and painted porch in recessed left

bay; other bays have ground floor bipartites in distinctive

lugged architraves, round-arched 1st floor single windows

with channelled voussoirs, continuous band course at

impost level; windows plate glass sashes; low wing to

right; broad-eaved (slated) roofs; some stacks cut down;

details repeated on flanks.

Stepped boundary wall to street. Painted gatepiers.
