8 Matilda Road, Glasgow

This is a later 19th century, two-storey, three-bay villa located at 8 Matilda Road in Glasgow. The villa features mullioned windows with plate glass sashes and is constructed from painted ashlar. Notable architectural details include ornamentation between the floors, with the outer bays designed with continuous window jambs that resemble giant pilasters. The windows have pilastered mullions, with a shallow projecting window on the left and a canted window on the right, both extending full height and with the main roof breaking forward over them. The inner door is set within a pilastered doorcase, and there is a deep main frieze along the top. The eaves are prominent and bracketted, and the roof is shallow-pitched and slated, with stacks at the ends. Additionally, there is a low boundary wall to the street, along with gatepiers, all made of ashlar.
