Description
28 Miller Road in Ayr is a pair of two-storey, five-bay villas built in the later 19th century. The exterior features painted ashlar stonework, with a channelled design at the ground floor. Notable architectural details include a cill course at the first floor, an eaves course, a cornice, raised quoins at the first floor, and aprons with architraved surrounds for the first-floor windows.
On the south elevation, there are fluted, columnar entrance porches at the second and fourth bays, each with timber doors and letterbox fanlights. Above these porches, single windows are aligned at the first floor. The ground floor has a central bipartite window, with a blind window above it at the first floor. To the outer left, there is a bipartite window at the ground floor and a single window at the first floor, while the right side features a canted bay on both floors. There is also a timber door leading to a coped wall on the outer right.
The windows are a mix of plate glass and six-pane timber sash and case styles. The roof is covered with grey slate, featuring stone skews, gablehead and wallhead stacks, and circular cans.
The interiors were not seen in 1998. The property is partly enclosed by a low coped boundary wall.
