Description
Dunluce, located at 68 Prospect Road West in Dullatur, is a villa designed in the style of Alexander Thomson, likely by his partner Robert Turnbull, built in 1875 or 1876. This two-storey building features a principal north elevation with three bays. The outer ground floor windows are set forward and connected by a continuous entablature, which is supported at the entrance by a pair of Egypto-Greek columns. Behind the entrance, there is a tall doorway with a modern door and side-lights. All windows are adorned with pilastered mullions. The villa has bracketted eaves, corniced stacks, and a shallow-pitch piended slate roof, along with a rear wing. Inside, the villa continues the "Thomsonesque" theme with detailing that includes an Egypto-Greek columned hall screen.
