The Beeches, 83 Langside Drive, Glasgow

The Beeches is a large asymmetrical villa built around 1900, featuring Tudor architectural details. It has mullioned and transomed windows, as well as gables with kneeler skewputts. The villa is two storeys high with attics and is constructed from stone-cleaned stugged and snecked ashlar, with polished dressings.

The entrance bay is near the centre and is gabled, supported by squat columns that hold up an open archway with sculpture above. The door is flanked by sidelights. To the right, there is an advanced gabled bay, while the left side has broad eaves and a canted ground floor window. An open loggia is located on the first floor at the southwest corner. The south flank also features a pair of asymmetrical gables, and there is a stepped stair window at the rear. The villa has stacks with projecting caps and slate roofs.

Inside, there is much good quality ornamentation, including timber and stone carving, as well as decorative plasterwork. The boundary wall is also stone cleaned and features battered circular piers with domed caps, along with timber gates that are likely original.
